Founded in 1966, MLR encourages work in wide topics of Masonic study.
The Masonic Lodge of Research A.F. & A.M. is a chartered constituent lodge of the Grand Lodge of Connecticut A.F. & A.M.
MLR was organized in 1966, and has been continuously active and productive since. Although our activities are directed towards the study of Masonic history in Connecticut, the Lodge encourages work in wider and more general topics of Masonic study.
As a lodge of research, we provide :
- Educational Events, Programs, Guest Speakers, and Lectures
- Publications including our yearly Transactions and Research Papers
- Our library of research papers
- Speakers for constituent lodge programs
- Assistance with Research & Writing
The purpose of MLR is to stimulate masonic research, education, discussion, and to disseminate masonic knowledge.
MLR furthers this purpose by creating, compiling, and publishing research papers; hosting educational events; providing speakers for and being available to answer inquiries from other masonic lodges throughout he state; and maintaining a library of materials and resources.
MLR holds six Stated Communications each year and Special Communications as occasion requires. MLR’s meetings are held in the New Haven Masonic Temple at 285 Whitney Ave, New Haven, CT. on 4th Wednesdays of February, March, May, September, October and December.
The December meeting is MLR’s Annual Meeting and is sometimes moved by dispensation to a date earlier in December.
ALL MASONS are welcome to attend our meetings (occasionally a meeting may be open only to Master Masons because of the subject matter covered. Please check with the secretary).
