Masonic Imagery in Robert Burns Poetry

  • New Haven Masonic Temple 285 Whitney Avenue New Haven, CT USA (map)

Brother Larry Bowman will explore the masonic imagery and symbolism in the works of Scottish poet and lyricist Robert Burns. Burns is known as a symbol of Scotland and for his influence on the poetry of the Romantic Era (1800-1850). Burns was also a known Freemason: in 1781, a 22 year old Robert Burns was raised as a master mason in Lodge St. David Tarbolton. This event is open to all Master Masons.
